How to Create a Recurring Donation

When a donor is putting in their information to make a donation there is a drop down tab called "Periods." This tab allows the donor to set up recurring donations weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly. If they want to only donate this one time the default setting is a one time donation.

How to Manage Recurring Donations

If someone has already set up a recurring donation and would like to extent it, suspend/unsuspend it, or cancel it you can tell them how by following these easy steps. Suspending a donation will pause that transaction until it has been un-paused or unsuspended.
1. Direct them to log in and go to their dashboard by clicking the "Home" button on the top right corner of the page.
2. Click on the "Reporting Tools" tab on the left hand side.
3. Click on the "Recurring Donations I Make" tab.
4. Find the recurring donation they want to change and click the "View More" button under the "View/Modify" column.
5. Now they can choose to terminate, suspend, and extend the number of periods for their donation.

One thing that cannot be changed is the type of donation period. For example if you had a recurring donation that was $10 weekly, you cannot change it to monthly. To change this simply terminate the existing recurring donation and create a new one.

Missionaries

What is a Missionary Account?

Missionaries are another subset of the church account. The money that is donated to a Missionary flows through the Missionary's Continue to Give profile page into the church bank account. Then the church in turn allocates the money the missionary collected to the missionary.
All donations given to the Missionary are easily trackable by using your reporting tools!
In addition, the Missionary has their own profile page, can make their own projects, and have access to all their own tools! This will allow the missionary to take charge of raising their own funds!

To be a missionary of a church, go to continuetogive.com and create an individual fundraising page. Then, search for your church and request to be a missionary of that church! Once the your church accepts your request you are ready to go!

What Can I do With My Project Page

Projects are a subset of your non-profit. They offer the ability to connect with your donors and let them choose where they would like to help out!
▪ Since projects are their own subset of your overall mission they have their own QR code, badge, and profile page.
▪ This means you can promote your projects separately and highlight more important ones!
▪ In addition anyone can donate to your project on your general profile page by using the drop down box "Earmark this donation for" when filling out their donation information as seen below.

What is a project and how can I use it?

A project is a subdivision of your overall mission. It allows you to give ownership to the donor by giving them choices on what they would like to help out with. This may increase your donations because people can take a sense of pride knowing that on top of that monthly recurring donations they helped with the (your project name here) project.
Some Project Ideas:
1. Church Tithing
2. New Church Roof
3. Building an Orphanage

Churches and Online Tithing: A beginners guide to online donations.

In today's age it's important to stay up to date on technology. Computers, Smart phones, Kiosks, Apps, etc. the list goes on and on of what new avenues are coming to light in the church realm. Some churches already do online fundraising and are very familiar with all the new gadgets associated with it. However, there are some churches who have not looked into online giving yet and have no idea how it works and what trap of fees they might fall into. In this article, I'm going to go over what online giving is and how you can use online giving in your church.

Online giving is a way for churches to collect tithes and donations online through a website, on a phone, or on a kiosk.

For online methods: When someone is on your church website there can be a button that allows that person to give to the church. It doesn't have to be big or anything. It can just be another tab that says "Give to the Church." This button will be affiliated with a piece of code that will allow a donor to give right from your church website. This can increase your donations because that same person can set up recurring donations whether it's for tithing or for a new church project. Now just think of this for a second. During vacation season most people forget to tithe to the church because they are on vacation and did not step into the church building that Sunday to drop off their offering in the plate. Now they can go online and give their tithe from a computer whenever they are! In addition, you can always send out an email with a link to your donation page reminding families that they can tithe online. This will increase your reach to your congregation.

For Mobile: Churches should also look into mobile donations. Now-a-days with smart phones people can scan whats called a QR code. This will allow the congregation to give on a mobile device. In addition, there are text to donate numbers that allow congregation members to give through texting methods. (We recommend text to donate links instead of text to donate through phone providers. Be on the look out for our blog on why text to donate through phone providers might run you into trouble.) With QR codes and Text to Donate numbers, you can print them in any media. Now church members can see them in their bulletin and can easily donate anytime before, during, or after the service. These are also great for youth fundraising events or snail mail newsletters. This can also save the church money by printing a QR code and link for online donations instead of sending a self-addressed and stamped envelope.

Kiosk Stands: Kiosk stand are great for church tithing. This is like a virtual offering plate that can sit right outside your sanctuary. Your congregation can go to the kiosk stand and make a donation to the church or even set up their recurring donation. This is also great because it can provide the time and place needed to help out folks that are not technology savvy to get setup with a recurring donation or show them how to make their tithe on the offering kiosk.
